Some projects are just combination of: patience for the right moment, a coincidence and open mind to ‘welcome’ what presence is offering us.
In Spring 2022 Mr Edward Bates and Lukasz were walking around the stands of Pro Wein Fairs in Dusseldorf, Germany. And suddenly, Edward said “oh, you need to meet someone”. This is how we spontaneously said “Bonjour” to charming Ms Catherine Robine-Bouteloup from Veuve Gaudoulin Armagnac.
We started chatting and tasting vintages 1973, 1963 right at the stand. We were so much impressed, that we agreed to follow up over this idea after returning our homes.
Soon after Catherine, Edward and Lukasz have selected 8 stunning vintages – from 1914 to 1973. All bottled at natural strength with outrun between 28-107 bottles depending of the vintage. Top quality Bas-Armagnacs for all spirits lovers.
While shaping vintage selection, Lukasz realized he had super nice graphics – a little of cartoon style. They were somehow ‘re-found’ back – there were past plans to use them in other projects – but never fully deployed. Seems like they have been waiting for the right moment. That is how Alfred Dubois-Lizée revealed Retrouvé Animé Series.
Alfred Dubois-Lizée as a brand was bought by Lukasz from Braastad family – owners of the reputable Cognac House Braastad/Tiffon based in Jarnac, France.
